I've grown Henry Duelberg twice before and they didn't live through til the end of the season each time, pretty sure they got too much watering by me in their containers.

I want to grow it again and make sure it grows til frost/freeze.

I can only get this salvia, as well as, most of the salvias I grow, through mail order and I get them at Flowers By The Sea.

This one is particularly unhappy when it receives a lot of water. Recall it was discovered in an old, untended cemetery in Texas. Here is the story:

Run dryish this is a great plant.

@FBTS

I know to keep it on the dryish side, but keep forgetting during our growing seasons when I'm hand watering the other salvias. I've other salvia farinacea plants that I grow in containers that do ok and bloom into fall.

I'm still determined to get 'Henry Duelberg' growing and blooming through the seasons (spring to fall). Hopefully, next year.

Mine was beautiful this year; I got a plant in a trade and its blue was very intense. It was planted at the top of a slope with pretty good drainage and and compost added. I can't wait to see it bigger and prettier next year.
