My first Brothers Grimm rose died last summer, so I ordered another one from Palatine. The first was own root from Chamblee but this one will be on multiflora. My first one only grew to about 2' tall and wide, but that's typical for all my Chamblee roses the first few years I have them. All my other Fairy Tale series roses have exceeded 6 FEET tall and wide, so I'm wondering what the eventual size of Brothers Grimm will be. It's listed as a 30" rose, but the others were only supposed to get 4', so I'm not sure what to expect. How large has it gotten for you? I'm trying to plant it where it has appropriate space to spread out.

It's the biggest fairy tale rose in my garden. I have one in part-shade, which has grown to about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, but the one in full sun is at least 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide.

Whoa! I forgot that Pomponella is also a fairy tale rose. Brothers Grimm is not as big as Pomponella.

I'll have to find a new place for Brother, and it sounds like I may need to move my Pomponella too! The storm last night took out a few trees, so maybe this rose will take that spot.

If your Pomponella's from Palatine, it's going to get huge. If it's from an own-root nursery, it will stay quite small.

Cindi, Brothers Grimm planted this spring reached about 5' here and started arching. These fairy tale roses on multiflora root stocks act like they're on steroids!

I think I'll plant it next to the Caramella Fairy Tale I just moved. I double checked today and every site lists those as growing to 3'. Now I'm wondering about the rest of the roses I ordered. From what I found, the only one that is supposed to get huge is Honeymoon. Oh and of course 7 Sisters.

The first 3 HT's do get a bit taller around here, but not wider.

No intentional blood offerings, but blood has been shed nonetheless, LOL! Fairy tale roses are pretty thorny! Otherwise I gave them manure, alfalfa pellets, and some organic garden fertilizer in spring a few weeks after planting, but that was it.

7 Sisters will not be likely to settle for 10'. She will also sucker enthusiastically - a wonderful rose! Give her plenty of room.
