It's Stictocardia beraviensis and I'm jealous.

@mkb136 - what Zone are you located in?
Would you share seeds? Big Grin

According to:

http://site.mawebcenters.com/a...

who I heartily endorse. $ 8 for the plant.

"STICTOCARDIA BERAVIENSIS - HAWAIIAN BELL SUNSET VINE - Also known as BRAVEHEART VINE or KINGS IPOMEA. A fast growing vine with large velvet heart shaped leaves 6-7" wide. Likes moist soil and does well in sun or shade. Hardy zone 9-11. Will climb or cascade. Beautiful exotic 2-3" cup shaped scented flowers of bright crimson with orange and yellow streaking. Produces abundant nectar and flowers yearround. Will cover a fence, arbor, or trellis within a few weeks. May be container grown in colder climates."

Hmm container grown nodding nodding

David, it only blooms in the late fall winter months .. you'd need to either keep it in a well heated greenhouse or in your house.

No as long as you have sun all day I feed them early spring growth is crazy and all summer they will bloom. If you keep feeding them there out of control lol stop feeding them and you will enjoy the flowers.

I do it with just a pretend GH that is only used from late April to Mid November.

Have one heck of a grow area though in my basement. And an understanding wife.

Nope. Meant what I said. It is inexpensive cheapo ~ 8 x 8 x 10. If it is -15 outside, it is -10 or so in there. I have seeds started in mid summer in it. Early Spring and late Summer-Fall I have plants in it. I do use it that whole time. From November when I put everything to bed til mid April or so, I use it for storage and keep a few potted plants there. Not many.

During the hottest summer period it has shade cloth covering it. I start a lot of perennials over summer in it. On our hottest days this year, it was between 90 - 100 in there.

Seed seems to not be available anywhere. Oh well.

The seed is about as much as a plant I would just buy the plant. Once it has a good root system they take off.

Seeds are hard to come by because they are not self fertile .. you need a different species to get seeds such as Stictocardia beraviensis & Stictocardia campanulata.
