I purchased Chicago Apache this year, but it arrived at the end of the season, so I haven't seen its blooms in my garden. I did see it at a local daylily garden, though, so I can confirm that it is a northern-hardy variety and remember it being VERY red. I was excited to see it because, on a previous visit, the daylily gardener spoke so highly of its beauty that it stuck with me.
I later purchased it from the LA when I noticed a buyer (whom I was already purchasing another daylily from) had it for a stellar deal. Can we say 'awesome add-on' and 'cha-ching'?
I hope to be able to post pictures of it next year.
