I've had Chicago Apache for just over a year now and it has been in a pot since it'a arrival here. It is awaiting my making a new bed for it to go into.
I have been thrilled with it's performance thus far. It's a lovely, vibrant color and has bloomed well for being a "newbie". There have been no problems with rust. It is a dormant but where I live, all dormants do not go dormant so you find out as winter comes. Chicago Apache is a true dormant for me here.

I LOVE this daylily! Lovey dubby

An excellent red: The color stays throughout the hot July days and draws attention from a distance. Its growth is phenomenal, and increases rapidly here. It withstands some of the worst weather extremes including flooding from heavy rain. I would rate this very high on my favorite top reds list equal to these:

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Mountain Laurel')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Crimson Shadows')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Raspberry Dream')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Holiday Happiness')

I have had this plant in my garden for 5 years. It has been a good plant increasing yearly to the point where it needs to be divided in 2016. What I like best about this one is that it is a late bloomer for me. It is nice to see these red blooms when most of the others are finished. It keeps the color in the rain and produces lots of blooms over a long bloom period.

Chicago Apache has been an excellent performer for me in my zone 2b/3 garden. Despite not being in a full sun exposure, it has been a steady increaser and has a long season of bloom. I love it's rich red color! Mine is sited next to Hemerocallis Strawberry Candy and Heliopsis Summer Sun and they go great together in my opinion. I would highly recommend this Daylily

I've had Chicago Apache for a few seasons now. It has been a very reliable plant for me with decent increase each year and lots of blooms even though I have it in a spot that gets a touch too much shade.. It also blooms on the late side of the season for me as well. Blooms a very bright red for me with lighter midribs. Much brighter than all my other red, if not quite as saturated as some. Sets pods without trouble.

Reliable bloomer even in drought conditions and with afternoon shade, although it is slow to open in the mornings. Nice, vibrant red color. Smiling

This is one that I had and loved it. It grew very well for me even though I only had it a couple of years. So why do I not have it? Our daughter also really liked it. She had moved into a house and wanted some plants to put in. So I gave Chicago Apache and a few others. The plan being she would give me some back later. Well, that did not work out.

I just may have to consider getting it again!

I've had it here for many years. I sacrified most of the clump to spring sickness experiments (it does get spring sickness but grows out of it well and can still flower on the affected fans the same year). I kept a double fan from the dissected clump and it has now increased again and flowered well this year despite having a large shrubby weed in the middle of it which I shall have to remove in spring.

I purchased Chicago Apache this year, but it arrived at the end of the season, so I haven't seen its blooms in my garden. I did see it at a local daylily garden, though, so I can confirm that it is a northern-hardy variety and remember it being VERY red. I was excited to see it because, on a previous visit, the daylily gardener spoke so highly of its beauty that it stuck with me.

I later purchased it from the LA when I noticed a buyer (whom I was already purchasing another daylily from) had it for a stellar deal. Can we say 'awesome add-on' and 'cha-ching'? Big Grin

I hope to be able to post pictures of it next year.

I have had CA since 2012, it is a beautiful red that blooms late here. It has average increase, strong scapes, blooms well above foliage, sets pods well, and holds it's color well in high heat.

The red on Chicago Apache is AMAZING, and so hard to capture in a picture. The blooms have looked perfectly fresh at the end of the day, just as they did when they opened, even when the temps are over 100, and there is zero shade. It has never melted, or faded, or pouted! The foliage has looked great all season too, which is a plus. This one will always be in my garden!

CA is one of my all-time favorites. I had it planted about 10 feet from the curb in my front yard, and I would see its bright red beauty from 50 feet away as I'd drive home.

Proven performer, good clumper, and just all around awesome in the north Atlanta area.

For some reason I have no records of when I received this plant. I actually think I have been given it a couple of different times. I was going to post that the plant never seems to get established during the season, but it looks like I might have divided it because I have several different small clumps spaced around in different spots. I do need to pay more attention to this particular plant this 2016 season and actually determine how well it is doing.
It did get rust and from the last photo it can be seen in it's dormant state here in my garden.

I purchased this one last year. It has sprouted this year and the foliage looks nice. Hopefully it blooms nicely! Zone 4.
