I discovered some red spots and streaks on some of my bulbs and also my spider lilies that are (were) still in foliage. Oddly enough only one of the two species had it, not the other. I cut of all foliage where I could detect the slightest spot. I read about red blotch so I'm panicking at the moment

A little too early to tell..but just keep it dry. It maybe just slight reaction to cold or moisture that has settled at the leaves far longer than needed.

You could try sprinkling the bulbs with ground cinnamon. That's a old fashioned antiseptic that I use on bulbs. If its just on the surface, try peeling off the surface layer. Similar to peeling an onion. That sometimes takes care of the problem. I wouldn't worry yet about the spots and streaks on the leaves. Its too early to tell if its more than an environmental issue.

FYI: the red spots appeared on the leaves quite a while ago, but i didn't think it was anything to worry about at the time. This was actually more than a month ago when they were still outside....
I cut off all roots on one bulb and dipped it in a fungicide solution. See if it works.

These bulbs are not too hard to come by, but it's still a shame if you can't keep the same ones year after year...they're like children to me already. Does that sound overly dramatic? :p

Nope, not dramatic at all...I had an amaryllis bulb before that really suffered bad, it felt like losing an old pal when I just cannot remedy its issuess. I just take it as a day to day learning process with these lovely plants.

I always feel bad when I lose a bulb or plant that I really like. I lost a couple of Amaryllis bulbs to some kind of disease last year.
