Spent the afternoon outside, beautiful sun but very chilly. Paul gave me this idea a few years ago and it has been one of the things I love about decorating for the holidays. Decoration a tree is overrated I think , for me this is so much more fun.

Now that is my kind of decorating. What are the white balls?
Now I want to go outside tomorrow and see what I have available in the yard. Thank you so much for the idea Julia.

That was the first thing I was wondering. What are the white balls. I thought you had snow and made some snowballs. Rolling on the floor laughing

I love how you even added the roses

Ooh nice when they are lit at nite! Hope they are seen outside from within a window inside?
My holiday decorating is done: 24 inch decorated fake tree on entry table.
Here it's too cold to go outside; 27 degrees this morning and my feet from California are freezing...

Yes, I use to hang them from the eves but thought to use them another way this year. Getting tiered of the same stuff I have had for years.

Bev, Do you have wool socks. I buy smart wool socks and my feet are always warm and water proof shoes. Tennis shoes and cotton socks suck this time of year, always wet feet.
Tree goes up to night, artificial one goes up in 30 min.

My feet run hot and cold while inside so my smartwool socks get put on but then later they have to come off...
Definitely trying to avoid going outside. Maybe tomorrow. Hopefully, this weekend the artificial poinsettias-in-pots go onto the front porch. Smiling

Julia those are nice especially for night decorating. I have some solar pond ball lights that I could use in that type of outdoor pot decor.

WOW Bev I do not know how you can be colder than I am. We have see 28 one night about two weeks ago but we will not see those temps until Jan lows.

Tree is up. Now the holiday cleaning and rest of the house decorating begins. I am going to hire this crap out next year. I am getting to old for all this work. The tree I will do but outside is to much but the neighbors would probably not talk to me if I do not decorate outside. Everybody decorates or hire decorators. They want that honor of being the Holiday decorated street winner every year. There is only 15 houses on the street.

Sounds like a lot of work Cinta . My DH does the outside lights, I can hardly get a tree up. I just like to make the container display. If It was up to me that is the only thing I would do but, having family this year. I bought all these interesting evergreens a few years ago so wanted to use some as they are starting to gain some size. I may have over done the variety in this container, simplicity is usually better, Oh well. I used my evergreens!!!! Hilarious!

Seems like that "unwritten" rule that one should be decorating yearly should be written down somewhere before one buys into the neighborhood street... Whistling

Nope Julia I think they are perfect. Especially holidays that time of year it is suppose to be over the top.

Bev if they were not so nice to me I would say forget you all. A couple of winters ago we had 2' of snow over night you could not use the snow plow until you hand shoveled a feet down. The men got together and hand shoveled all the ladies driveways that were single women or had husband that were able to do the work. When my Mom was ill they came over and weeded the outside of the property. The only thing surrounding the property is bushes and weeds. They made sure the outside of my property was pristine.

Wonder if I told them I was unable to put up the decoration if they would come over and do that for me this year. Hummmmm Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
