Does anyone know if this company treats their seeds? I have bought watermelon seeds with a pink dye, does not smell like herbicide, fungicide or anything else for that matter. But the question arose when we were discussing the pink dye on the seed. I keep trying to find out information online but to no avail. If someone here could help that would be so appreciated.

I don't know anything about the seed company, but in my business I have seen plenty of seeds in the last 30 years that were pink like that. In the past, it has always been a fungicide. You see this a lot from seeds that comes from over seas. Tom

As far I know, the company is not organic so seeds are likely GMO and treated.
I garden for the pollinators.

Thanks for the help. I didn't know and now it's time to search for better seed.

The seeds are likely treated with fungicide but they would not be GMO. GMO seeds are not currently sold to home gardeners. When farmers buy GMO seed they have to sign contracts with the company before they can even take possession of the seed.

Well glad I'm done with them now. I imagine I'll switch to baker's now that I have options.

I love Baker's Creek Rare Seeds.

Opening their packets can be like gambling. They always have AS many seeds as their "minimum" number. But sometimes they have three or even four times as many seeds as promised!

And their seed catalog is like Playboy or Playgirl for gardeners. Gorgeous pinups on every page!

Totally agree. I've only bought 3 flowers from them but I had the same experience. I love their catalogs. Paper and online.

I too need to request a Baker Creek catalog. I've been going thru the list of Monsanto owned garden seed catalogs and weeded most of my standbys into a ''don't buy from'' pile.

I've had good luck with SeedsNow. Their seeds are all organic/non GMO. Their web site is very helpful, and, you can buy small packets of seeds for 99 cents each. www.seedsnow.com/ is the link to their website.

This is my first posting on a forum. I trust that it is okay for me to mention a company.

I've gotten seeds from them too. They're more economical.

I received a new catalog this year called ''The Natural Gardening Company.'' No GMO's. I think I'll give them a chance. I like a company that ''talks'' to you about the product and give their opinions. They are out of California. I haven't looked them up online yet.
