You can now gives a thumbs up to stuff that you see and like. Think of it as a way of "recommending" something to others.

When you see the green "thumbs up" icon, that means you can click on it to recommend it to others.

Currently, the only place where this is visible is in the tips area. For now, that's the only place where it will be present, while we're in this brief "beta test".

Later, I will expand it so you can give a thumbs up to a post in a thread that you may have found particularly useful or informative, as well as other places, too.

Later still I will expand it further so that other can view your profile and see what things you have given a thumbs up to.

Feel free to play around. Go to the tips area and give a thumbs up to a few of the tips!

I've added it to threads. You should see it at the bottom of each post.

I like this feature. Just noticed it at Chris's article. I really hate to say it but I've found myself sucked into the facebook culture and every other site you can give comments... "thumbs up" is everywhere and I've been craving it here too! Thanks, Dave, again!!

I just gave a thumbs up to a comment on the thumbs up on the thread announcing the new thumbs up feature.

I just noticed it on the Tip of the Day. Now I have to go back and give it to all the cool tips that came before!!

I have added the thumbsup to the articles, as well.

So we now have it in forums, in tips and in articles.

If an item has received thumbs, the number of thumbs is now a hyperlink. If you click on the link, you can see a list of who else recommended the item.

I like that the "thumb" changes color from green to gray if "you" have "liked" it.

Yes, and if you mouse over it, you'll received information. If it's green and you mouse over it, it'll explain what will happen if you click, and vice-versa.

Just so folks know, I clicked on the (7) in Dave's first post to see the names of the people who had "thumbs upped" it. After viewing the names, I clicked "return to post by Dave" so I could give it my own thumbs-up, but it sent me to a single post, not the thread. I thought it might take me back to his post within the thread, but it didn't.

So Dave, is it possible to have it return us to the screen we came from? If not, it is just better to back arrow out of there. (Or else put the thumbs-up option in the single post as well.)

I have added thumbs to the blogs feature, so that rounds it all out. All the main features of ATP now have thumbs enabled.
