If you find metal things that don't have that lovely rust look, you can do it almost instantly.

I love rust too! Just yesterday my daughter was showing me a painted white metal basket and telling me that she was thinking about making a bird house or planter, something for the garden with it, my response was "paint it rust color" whatever you decide to make from it! Something about rust that just looks "right" in the garden.

Love it!

Years ago I took metal strapping like that and woumd it up and scrunched it up (gloves!!) and pushed and tugged it into a massive nest! It rested in the garden for years ...finally it all rusted through..and I got rid of it. ( took years tho! ). I love it. My granddaughter waited for the big bird that it belonged to. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰

No. I wish I did. It was way before my iPad days. With the iPad..so much easier.

I even made mini ones...I got BAGS of shavings ( not shavings but not sure of a good discriptor...long lean strips of shiny silver colored metal...thin .... From a machine shop at the local tech college... I treated them the same way and made nests maybe 10 high by 16 inches wide. Those I set in crook of tree. They sparkled in the sun real good. There are lots of good things in those shops.

Here are a few rusted pieces that are favs.
The mermaid
The dragon...i added the rock to make the tail longer and sprayed it black...then sprayed the dragon too.." She " we call her sybill was quite rusted.
The St. francis needs to be enlarged to see the top
Not very good photos, but it is what I have at hand

I love the rusty look in my gardens! The nursery where I buy some of my yard art has now started powder coating their creations. Not nearly as interesting as the raw metals that they used to sell. We also have an old pump in our front yard that has had attention from people passing by. I keep expecting to see an empty spot there one day, but so far so good.

I have a old rusted stove that I use as plant stand ... Let them try to take that!!
Would need a crane!

I see my better half is stacking things against it again! Wintertime is a free for all...come spring the cleanup begins. inplan on taking those palkets abd tacking landscape to it filling with soil to start seeds. Better than a million pots.

I don't get how people can just swipe things from someones property. I was emptying my brothers house after he passed and put stuff on the front lawn (not the street) to sort...next morning it was all gone! I left that house 10:30-11 at NIGHT..was back by 8 am next day. All gone - even the trash! I figure my brother got a kick out of that. He is saying.. .. " you always underestimate the human condition!"

Yes. Well, I hope whoever has those things enjoys ...I was so overwrought about closing up that house and his passing...truthfully, I don't even know what was out there.

It is OK. Knowing him...he would say keep it if you need it.
