Dave, I thought you would want to know this. It doesn't bother me, but it might point you to something that needs fixing.

I got TWO System messages for the same thumbs-up. When I look at the forum post that got the thumb, it did show only one thumb.

The person it came form, and the timestamp, are identical.

Again, this is not even inconvenient, I just thgouht you would wnat to know about any seeming glitch.

Something similar happened to me 2 days ago but it was a notification of an acorn tip - two notices yet only one acorn tip showing from that person. I figured it was a glitch.

Once in a while the system doesn't respond quickly when I click on the thumbs-up symbol. I mistakenly assume that my click didn't register and I click again. The second click cancels my first click, of course. Then I have to click a third time to register the thumbs-up. That must be the reason you'd get two notifications for the same thumb.

I've had that happen, too -- and I was wondering what it would do with the notifications. (I guess I know now Blinking )

Thanks, zuzu, I bet that's it.

Dave, unless you deliberately filter out duplicate thumbs that were given during in the same minute, zuzu's guess could be the cause.

Give a thumb, accidentally cancel the thumb, re-give the thumb.

That happens to me once in while too.
Another thing is that sometimes I forgot I gave a thumbs-up for a post or a photo when it is some time ago, and give a thumbs-up again, of course my first disappears and I quickly click on it again to make it reappear.
I then wonder if the poster got a two notices, that a thumbs-up got canceled and then given back.. Hilarious!

The cancellation of a thumbs-up does not send a notice to the poster, but the poster will end up with two notices regarding the thumbs-up being given, even though the two may be separated by pages and pages of other system messages.
