I almost bought one that was 6 feet long. Trouble is, I have no 6 ' shelves. It would hold 3 trays easily.
You can use electric heat blankets, but I don't have one.

@DavidLMO Can't wait to see your Moragne #27 seedlings. Am anxious to compare notes as I planted them also..seeds from BB&B. Here are mine this morning on day 24. When do you plan on fertilizing (with what) and transplanting? At 4 or 6 true leaves? Confused

When do you think I should pot up and what size pot? Fertilizer? These are my first seed babies to grow. The first attempt was weird, as you may recall...started using paper towel method and got leaves and no root Confused and then mold Grumbling They went to plumeria heaven. No more paper towel method for me or maybe it was a fluke. I was using H2O2 solution so was surprised when mold raised its ugly head.

I would step up all the way to a one gal. once you have four true leaves. I base this in part on the time of year; spring is coming and they will want to grow. Once they are established in their new pot start fertilizing - either use a timed release fertilizer (my preference) or use a regular (always well-balanced) one at half strength. Be sure not to push 'growth' too much, or you'll end up with a lanky plant.

As always, keep in mind that we are all over the place - what works for me, will not necessarily work for you someone in WA, CA, FL and so on. And what I state is what I do in general - there are always exceptions. I do grow a lot of stuff from seed - this year likely 2,000 +.

I will not fertilize until they are potted up and have 2 or more sets of true leaves. Prior to that, I may use a Foliar Spray due to the nature of the plant. For these, I will move to 2.5 - 4 inch pots. Since I have never grown Plumeria from seed, I have no idea how quickly things will progress. I am hoping to have them in 6 inch pots by the end of my growing season - ~ Mid October. My hunch is that will not be the case.

When I first fertilize, I will use liquid in water. After I feel that has worked its course, I will move to timed - I usually use Osmocote.

I don't use the paper towel method very often as I have not had good luck with it. If you get mold on them, a 10 % bleach solution works well. Mold in such cases is usually due to too wet paper towel.

I agree Brad's seeds have been good.
Thanks for the mold & paper towel info as well as your plans for your plumeria seedlings, David.

David, in my area, depending on the variety you could have a 2 to 3 feet tall seedling in one year.

Of course. Green Grin! Not in my area. Crying My rooted cutting purchased in August 2014 was ~ 12 inches from bottom of pot when I took it in Fall '14. I took it out 4 days or so after Mothers say and grew it in a South area where it got full sun from sun up to sun down. When I brought it in ~ Oct. 12 it was ~ 26 " tall.

Here our outdoor grow period is barely 5 months. At best. 3 years ago (IIRC - and that is ?able Big Grin ) it was barely over 4 months. That year we had 2 feet of snow and temps in the teens 2 days after Mother's day.

I will let everyone know how tall this is 12 months from today.
