I never put a plant or seed in the garden without labels. Some are permanent, some biodegradable and most are made from scrap pieces of wood! They save so much confusion as to what kind, what color, what size, etc. etc. And all are important to me.

As a way to manage, label, secure and shape growing things I've saved for years the green velcro strips that my local super markets use to bunch for sale [vegetables like greens or beets or herbs] and re-use the strips in my indoor and out door gardens. I save the canvas bags the rices I purchase is finally packed for sale in local markets here for easy storage and transport of hand held garden tools. basilbe [another winter weary gardener from N.E.]
