It is -20 windchill today. Thinking of warmth and lusciously smelling flowers while coloring.

We are about minus 16 ºC today, but no wind.
Yes dreaming of spring gardens is an excellent cold weather activity.

I don't think we've been below zero (F) yet... today we got up to 32°F, and it was around 20 when we got up this morning. (Can't figure out why everyone doesn't move to the UP. Oh - maybe because there are no jobs? Rolling my eyes. )

That would do it. Otherwise it couldn't be the horrible cold you have always had for which the UP is famous???

Oh, that part is highly exaggerated, Mary! Whistling

Did you feel the earthquake that was south of Anchorage a few days ago?

Oh yeah. Quite a jolt. Knocked a few things over but nothing got hurt. The hard shocks are scary but the long slow rumbling ones that just keep going and end in a sharp jolt are even scarier, especially when they then continue that low rumbling for a bit.

Having never felt any sort of earthquake -- that just sounds so weird to me! The worst thing that we've had is the ground heaving (gradually) with really bad winters, causing (minor) cracks in our drywall Hilarious!

I really like living in such a boring area...

The biggest fear in MN is a tornado; but after 35 years, I have luckily never seen one.

Now that is something to strike fear into your heart. A tornado. You can see it coming. Earthquakes just start and do their thing. No time to anticipate.

Yikes -- I couldn't agree more! One more thing that is rare to never where I live.

And although it seems that one would see a tornado coming, so often it happens at night and just WOOSH -- wipes stuff out. (and even during the day, in a lot of places you can't see all that far when you live in the north woods...) Sad
