My winter past time is looking through magazines and internet for ideas to do in the Spring.

I cannot plant most of my sedum and semps in the garden because they are so tasty to critters. I have been using them as decoration for living pictures and in pots on the patio.

I came across this one and liked it and thought I would share. So when you see it this summer this you will know where I got the idea.

I am curious as to what plant is used on her chest. Anyone have any idea? At first I thought it was one of the red sedum but I am not sure.

@Cinta Sedum morganianum blooms I think.
Burro's Tail (Sedum morganianum)

The only other thing I could think of might be Senecio rowleyanus, but it has white flowers

@Moonhowl Good eye. I missed the string of pearls. I still think the red on her chest is something another type of sedum or it could be artificial since it is so perfect in shape.

I purchased one of those succulent tiles last summer that have a sedum that was red all summer and it has a tight growth I might be able to use that succulent.

Thank you for your help.

@Cinta Just a thought, could it possibly be dried miniature rose buds?

I got a little side tracked by the Sedum rowleyanus but after zooming in on just that area, they do like small dried roses.

The reason I thought it was some type of plant is because it looks like they have pots of a live plant. Do you see those little pots and it looks like soil in them. I have never seen a plant that has little red balls or blooming buds except as you both have suggested small dried rosebuds. Hummmm time for some more searching. Don't have much else to do in this snow storm.

I tried zooming in, but what I saw looked like Sphagnum moss. It is possible that the head planter is sitting in a larger container with the soil and moss used to cover the base and hold soil for the echeveria and other plantings. Shrug!

I agree that it looks like dried rose buds. I also see chicken wire as a form.
That is beautiful Cinta. I look forward to seeing your creation.

Could it be small stone crop?
