This is a tree called "Thong Tonnam". Classed as 1st generation Thai Arabicum.
It is a tree I acquired from Dino Adenium in Thailand.

"Classed as 1st generation Thai Arabicum." Hmm...very interesting! Nice tree, Rick. Pray tell, what makes the form distinctive as compared to other types of arabicums?

Thai Soco (Arabicums) and Arabicums are different and inter respective hybrids are different again. It is only the true character of a Thai Soco that makes it one. This tree is young and may not hold the true characteristics as it grows older?

How long after you got your plants from Dino did it take them to sprout shoots? Mine are in the house near a small grow lite. They are so young and cute

When I got mine, I put them under my lights about a week after receiving them. This was in Oct last fall. Photo above was taken end of January of this year.
Approximately 8 wks. to leaf out.

They will first put on new feeder roots in order to support the leaves and this can take a few weeks. The temperature and light will help with this.
I like to water mine, when I do with Rooting hormone and B1 to assist in new root growth. It can seem as they are taking forever, but they will leaf out. Also, you are coming into summer soon and this will help.

Rick, My new Thong Tonnam tips have gotten crisp. The branches/caudex are firm. Maybe it is just the leave tips he cut off.

crystalview,
It could just be the sap from when the leaves where snipped off. As long as they are not turning black and shriveling, they should be fine. They can seem to take forever to leaf out.
My new ones are just showing signs of green at the tips.
Dino usually does not cut off the terminal growth tips of branches, just the leaves to 1/8".

The leaves probably were just cut done to 1/8". They dried out but the tips are fine. Thanks for answering all my questions everywhere. I am just impatient. .
