A member posted a photo of this plant here in the Ferns forum: http://garden.org/thread/view_... and then subsequently added the photo to the database.
She has the "Associate with a plant in the database" feature turned off, so no one else can link her photos. Is there some way to get the photo in that post to show up as a database entry, and have the thread linked to the database? And did that question make any sense?
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
So, I tried that. It still doesn't show up as linked in the thread.
And the thread doesn't show up linked to the plant, either.
So, is there some way to make that happen?

Woofie, ok, you're correct. I was seeing the link, but didn't follow the link. It does go to the wrong fern. Now how did that happen? That will need to be deleted, but it probably will take admin.
I think that one was already there, linking the database plant to an old thread. Maybe it just takes awhile for the link to your Plant ID thread to show up?

I noticed that same issue when the contest was running (the one to link plants in the threads to the database). But I haven't gone back to check them, because I don't remember which ones they were. Sigh.

Wouldn't they still be in your system messages? It might be hard to find them though, since you would have so many to look through.
Every night the system is programmed to go through the forums and look for images that may also be in the database, and it will automatically convert those into db_photo tags. So let's wait til tomorrow and see if this particular post resolves itself.
