What are your 2 earliest blooming and 2 latest blooming double peonies? How do they open for you?

I get a bit frustrated with the descriptions 'double' 'bomb' etc. In my database at home, and indeed, the database at our botanical garden I am trying to add all the attributes I can (height, foliate, color, bloom time, FORM, et al) and from one nursery and even authoritative book to another a peony will be described as double or bomb, or semi-double. I try to defer to the APS but even between their publications there are differences. I guess it isn't critical just a bit frustrating to a type A OCD data collector. Rolling on the floor laughing

Most of my established peonies are singles and semi-doubles, thought all doubles had to be staked until a few years ago! And I have several that haven't bloomed at all yet, hopefully not lost completely with last year's late blizzard. Went through my pics from last spring and the earliest doubles I found were Lady Alexandra Duff and Bess Bockstoce, June 9th and 11th. Latest last spring were Jacorma and Sonoma Halo, 7/11 and 7/15. LAD has been in place for years and has been completely reliable, even through our crazy weather. The other three were first year blooms so they don't have much of a record yet but so far, so good! The fact that they even produced stems and leaves that didn't shrivel away was better than a lot of the 1st year peonies from last spring......

Ok, last year I did not take a lot of photos. But I always get excited at the beginning of the peony season. So my two earliest were 'Blonde Vision' 4-18 and 'Cotal Sunset' 4-19.

The latest I can't remember. I will do better this year. In years past it has been 'Lillian Wild'

My earliest peonies in 2015 were 'Claire de Lune' and 'Pink Hawaiian Coral.' Both were blooming on May 14, peak season for rhododendrons and Spanish bluebells in my shadier gardens.

Think that's one of the two best things about this peony forum--the member's pics make the longest peony season EVER! The other is all of the gardeners who are as addicted to peonies as I am.....

Annette was the first to post a pic of a peony bloom last year, Koukamom on April 10th. And Frank Richards posted the last one--a very late bloom of Garden Treasure on July 11th!
