Here's some pics my cousin posted on facebook that she was told was dragon fruit, but it doesn't look like the ones in our database. Is it dragon fruit or something else?

I think it definitely is in the same category of cacti (Hylocereus and associated species), but what specific species it is I cannot help you with.

Reminds me of African Milk Tree (Euphorbia trigona)

mcvansoest is great at identifying plants; and it does look like Hylocereus. A few H. species shown here: https://toptropicals.com/catal... Some are really cool looking and I love the growth habit on some of them!

Don't know... looks like Euphorbia maybe. This can be checked easily by taking a knife and breaking the skin on the plant somewhere.... white sap should ooze out of the wound. Just be very careful not to touch the sap as it can be an extreme irritant.

I am not sure which species this is but I am confident that it is Euphorbia which is good enough for me. I can let my cousin know that it is not Dragon Fruit.

To me it looks more like Euphorbia trigona, but it doesn't matter. The fact that it is Euphorbia was enough for my purposes.

Hi Everyone,
I was given this lil guy back in December by a friend, but she didn't know the name of it and I believe she had it in a East or West window, which I don't have. If y'all could help me with the name and any advice on growing it, I would greatly appreciate it. Mine is the single one and hers is the bigger one.

Leonda, I would suggest you start a new thread for this plant. I have already marked this one as finished so a lot of people may not even look here to see your plant. It would get a lot more attention in it's own thread.

I agree that it is most likely an Euphorbia, but what throws me is the posture of the stems and how they branch... My E. lactea and E. trigona are both upright in posture, and any branches are upright too. they do not have the right angle branches as shown in the picture. So I am not sure that it would be either trigona or lactea...

It does look like a Mammillaria elongata. Thank you for leading me in that direction. Hopefully I can do some research and see exactly what kind. I thought that maybe it leaned, from her not having it in the right light, but I have mine in a very sunny south facing window, I turn it and it still leans lol. Do you know how I should be taking care of it? Water, light, anything and everything? Lol

As much sun as you can possibly give it. It needs very well draining soil, water sparingly and let dry out between waterings, but no need to leave it sit dry for long periods of time.
