Identified ... THANKS everyone!! I've edited my original post below to show the id's.

I've been looking through the picture folders on my laptop and came across these cacti photos I took when vacationing in San Diego, California. Wonder if anyone recognizes them?

1. Candelabra Tree (Euphorbia ingens) Wacky Cactus, photo taken at Balboa Park, San Digeo 1/12/2015


2. Chollas (Cylindropuntia) Spiny Cactus, photo taken at Point Loma area, San Diego 1/9/2015


3. Prickly Pears (Opuntia) maybe O. phaeacantha? Photo taken at Balboa Park, San Diego 8/16/2013


4. Euphorbias (Euphorbia) Opuntia? Photo taken at Balboa Park, San Diego 1/12/2015 and it's the only picture I have.

#1 and #4 look like Euphorbia, but I have no idea on cultivars.

Thanks J, I'd previously placed photos of Cacti #1 at the entry for Candelabra Tree (Euphorbia ingens) because that's what someone identified it as but the photos at that entry all look different to me and nothing like the photos I took in San Diego. One photo at that entry looks like another of a cactus I saw in San Diego that someone identified as Euphorbia (Euphorbia candelabrum) but it doesn't look anything like your photos of E. candelabrum so I'm thinking my photo there is in the wrong place too.

#1 looks like Euphorbia ingens (the weeping form; see Lotusland images). E. ingens has been called E. candelabrum in the past. #4 is also a Euphorbia. Neither of these two plants are cacti, but the African equivalent.

I agree with Baja on #1, but he is way better at the Euphorbias than I am. #2 is a cylindropuntia, could be C. californica, as that occurs there I think. #3 definitely an Opuntia, but I think the pads are wrong for phaeacantha.
#4 an Euphorbia, I have seen a picture of that one somewhere recently but cannot remember the name.

@Baja_Costero, thanks so much! I see now that there are two forms of E. ingens, the standard and a weeping form. I took photos of another one that has the standard form:


@mcvansoest, thanks for the ID of Cylindropuntia ... looks right for that genus. I'll put my photo in the general database entry since I can't be sure of the exact species.

#1 and 4 are Euphorbia
#2 is Cylindropuntia
#3 is Opuntia
