On Friday of last week I went to home depot and got 2 new cactus rescues a opunia microdasys albata and a peanut cactus hybrid

Both were in too small of pots and had fake flowers glued to them I reported them and carefully peeled the flowers off I watered both a little and placed into the direct lighting of my grow lamp a sunleaves 5000 lumen 4 foot strip light

Well done and good luck. Cactus are pretty tough and should respond to your treatment. Any pictures?

Glueing straw flowers to cactus heads is the #2 most noxious thing you can do to cactus. #1 is spray paint. Luckily, cactus are so waxy that the flowers come off pretty easily. Paint, on the other hand... I'm not sure why those plants even survive as synthesizing through paint may be tough.

Good luck with your new plants.

Have fun with the plants!

Next time, wait for the cactus to boot that puppy right off his head. They will in a month or so. If the glue is in the spines, use some scissors to snip the spine off.

Yeah I'm glad its doing as well as it is peanut cacti are fun

The opunia genis is fun too weather or not they make real flowers is doubtful but as least they should grow bigger I don't know if consistently warm days and night would help it bloom

My peanut cacti blooms from late Spring to late Fall on and off, as long as it gets direct sun and gets watered very well then allowed to dry.

The opunia bunny ears i rescued is coming out of dormancy I saw new green dots on the top of the pads and the peanut cactus has red on its area where the spines come out I don't know if this is good or bad it could be new growth
