Hello!

I have a dragon fruit plant I have been growing since Christmas. I went to look at it this morning and I noticed something. Take a look at the following picture:




As you can see, one of the plants spikes, (I don't know what the proper name is,) has a bulge that is green with spots of red and looks like a mini dragon fruit. I just wanted to ask what the bulge is and what I should do if anything needs to be done. I did research and it showed this was a forming flower bud, but I'm not sure if its true.

I don't grow that one, but I think it could either be a bud, a branch or a root. Give it some more time to see what really forms.

It may not be that no one knows; it could simply be that we need a better/clearer/in-focus image so we can see what you are seeing. Please continue to take photos and try for clear, in-focus close-up images so we have a better chance. Thank you.

One of the first things you need to grow, to be a gardener is patience, Jared.

You will know pretty soon what that thing is, no matter what somebody might say about it. The plant will tell you.
