I was reminded in a post by Zuzu that I should add my info and photos of our new gazebo in this forum.

Last month hubby & I sprayed the recycled satellite dish (after posting a request for one on Freecycle) an olive green to match the poles that it will be placed on. I got this idea from Janet (imapigeon), her's is a much bigger one, I kind of wished I had waited and found a larger one too but hey, free is free and this will look cool once it's done.
My post of a few pics of Janet's garden where I had taken a few pictures of hers: http://cubits.org/Califliving/thread/view_post/436852/
along with her blog to document it:

When it was done, up it went. It will be planted with a honeysuckle and passion vine, with Graham Thomas rose on one side and whatever else I can think of to make it lush and cozy. I want to add a stain and sealer to that old bench.

I will update photos as the plants start to fill in. Thumbs up

I love the way this looks. The lines of the bench are echoed in the gazebo.

That's why I thought something rounded would be perfect for that bench. Big Grin

Sue that really looks very nice, can't wait to see it with the vines climbing. There is a yard near my parents home that has one. They make really nice gazebos. I agree about the wagon wheel bench mirroring the circular design. Very nice.

Thank you keyi and kaleem!

It looks nice in the background when taking garden photos and will be even nicer once the vines cover it. I have quite a few shots of it scattered throughout my blog. http://allthingsplants.com/blogs/view/Calif_Sue/

Just a few updated photos, the last 2 photos, taken in Nov. are not the best lighting, I'll get new ones this spring.

It's been surrounding by all kinds of plants, the Honeysuckle 'Blanche Sandman' is making it's way up the front right pole, behind it the yellow Graham Thomas rose and a clematis in the back right pole. Three of the poles have chicken wire wrapped around them to assist the climbers. Salvia coerulea 'Costa Rica Blue' makes a beautiful backdrop.

First shot is mid May 2012, it makes a nice focal point.

Wow! This is the first time I've seen the lawn without the "dog-proofing" barrier. It's fabulous!

Oh that's right. Once we added the side fencing to keep them out of the garden area, we removed that. Sure makes a nicer view from the balcony, just not at the other end with that ugly orange!
Can hardly wait to get going on that side! Glare

Thanks ladies! The paths were already there when we moved in 2 years ago, we pulled out all the overgrown shrubs and I planted all the various perennials, things have really filled in fast! You can see the progress in my blog. Thumbs up
