Dear Cherie, looks like I will have to brush up on my photography then. If I had a place like Kew to work on, I might get better.

Neil are you busy earning acorns to add to your nut collection? Dave gives one for every image put in the plant database and you have so many lovely plant pictures you could have (be?) nuts forever!

Dear Carol, I am not really bothered about acorns at all. I have been to the Hospital today as they needed to sort my teeth out and that hurt a lot. So I went in Borough market to see the plants and food, as I normally do when I am up there. Managed to get a nice small Japanese maple for £4.95 and a lovely game pie for my father. So I was happy and he is happy. This time of year is really busy for us Royal British Legion Caseworkers, and it is more important for me to help our veterans out than worry about nuts. There are enough nuts that live around here anyway, especially on a Saturday night.
I have put some pictures on the site, but every time I wish to do something the British Legion want me for something, as I am the only male Caseworker in the southeast and someone who can deal with people who have PTSD!
Hope you are well?
Regards.
Neil.

Sorry to hear your teeth are hurting - tooth ache is misery. I hope it sorts itself out soon.

Is now a particularly heavy time for your legion work? It is a very worthwhile job you do but it must be very stressful at times.

Not to worry about the acorns, I suspect you will find time eventually to post your pictures. I have added quite a lot but yours are particularly good and we do need to keep the British Flag flying!

Dear Carol, I do not have any teeth as they took them all out after a student broke a needle in my gum and broke my jaw in his efforts to cover his mistakes up. As I had smashed a lot playing Rugby and motorcycle racing, they took them all out in April this year! They were trying to get moulds today for new ones, but the students were a bit rough to say the last, so had to get a Doctor to it. It hurt as they hold your jaw open to do it.
We are always busy at the Legion coming up to Christmas as we have Remembrance day in November which stirs memories and the biggest killer is loneliness, for some of these veterans have nobody.
That is why my wife and I always have a Christmas party for anyone who wishes to come, and we cook and pay for it. They all seem to enjoy it, and the chance to talk to people is good for them.
Caseworkers do not get paid as it is voluntary, and takes a lot of time and paperwork. It can be dangerous with disturbed people, but someone must help them.
So I would rather help a young mother who has lost her husband in Afghanistan six months ago and has nothing, than worry about acorns.
Kindest Regards.
Neil.

Neil, sounds brutal compared to how they did my teeth. Honey you maybe might wanna come to the US for teeth. That all sounded pretty barbarian to me. HOLD your mouth open? AWAKE ? Neil they wouldn't have dared me, I was asleep or I would have ripped their faces off. Violent I CAN be if pushed............

I'm trying to figure out why they were holding your mouth open to make the moulds. And why didn't they do that when you had your teeth to begin with/ They must do things really strange over there. I still think you need to com to the U.S. and go to my dentist. I set him off right away when I first met him. I sat in the chair looked hiim straight in the eye and told him " You hurt me I will not only bite you but you will kicked in a 1000 different places." If its gonna hurt and can't be helped he lets me go to sleep.........................................

Dear Cherie, it is quite easy as when they broke my jaw at another Dental Hospital I was unaware of it although it did hurt. So they had to re break my jaw in this new place I go to, to re straighten it, or alignment as they call it, they decided to take my teeth out as well. I was informed as my jaw heals and my gums become harder I could have new teeth. However although I have been back there frequent times, and had X rays etc. they were not happy with it. The last time I went they decided that at last they could do it. The problem was for two years I have had a broken jaw and since April no teeth, plus a extreme mistrust of Dentists. So I learnt to talk with no teeth, and keep my mouth shut as my jaw hurt.
So when they wanted to do these moulds and asked me to open wide it hurt as I have not had to do that in a long time, so they did it which hurt even more.
When they had to re break my jaw they thought of the way my teeth were positioned, and took what was left of them out, under a full unaesthetic so I knew nothing about it till I woke up. So that is why they could not make moulds at the time.
In the Hospital I go now they are very good to me (sometimes), as I am a difficult case due to the fact of my jaw being broken in the other Hospital, then having to be re broken in this one, and not being the most willing of patients.
Never mind I may be able to eat Goose for Christmas!
Group hug
Neil.
