WOW. Barb, he is adorable and the blue really is a fun addition! The oil spout makes him even cuter. (Love the lushness too!) When I redo my dog, I was thinking of spray him with brownish paint until he rusts better but maybe not. Maybe rust will come soon enough.

You all should see Barb's garden. It doesn't know she lives only minutes from me and that it's too hot to grow certain things. She's created a micro climate that is incredible.

Becky, I left a couple of cans in the water to soak for a day or two (actually I forgot they were there) But they started rusting already. Don't know if it was cause of the water or that they were in a metal pan with the water.

AH HA! That is good to know, Robin.
I think I will fill my bathtub with water and toss the cans in there.

I wonder if using salt water would work really quickly...

I'm a real fan of extreme rustic so I throw my cans into the bonfire, and then they rust quickly. Don't leave them in too long as they're somewhat fragile. If you spray them with bleach (dilute it to 10% or so) then they rust quick if they're left out in the sun and rain.
