We had a lot of rain yesterday and some of the roses I'd been waiting to photograph are upside-down and soggy today. They do have a special charm, however, especially the bicolor ones, so here are a few of them:

I'll continue these in a second post. The upload is balking.

They really look good that way, don't they? It's doubly true of roses that climb arches and pergolas and look down at you from above.

I did. It's raining here now, so I'll gladly send more: it's rained three or four times a week since August. The garden is happy, happy. I'm ready for drier weather. Can hardly wait for February.

I'll trade ya.. I'll take the rain, give you my dry. I can't stand to walk in a grocery store with a wheeled cart any more, I get electrocuted every time I touch anything. And it hurts. My hair is so staticy.. I'm having to use my Static Guard way too early. I'll take ALL your rain.. we're soooo dry here... Sad :( Sad

Our rain is an anomaly. We usually don't have rain between April and November. The earliest rain I can remember in past years was on Halloween (I remember feeling sorry for the trick-or-treaters because it caught them by surprise and they weren't dressed for it), but that's practically in November anyway. This was a total surprise. Nice break from watering, though.

And we had the last rain late too, June 28th if I remember right, totally out of character. We're usually done by May.

I love hanging rose heads, some of my favorite shots are upside down blooms, nothing from this week though.
I adore that shot of Compassion the best!
