Making Stepping Stones

At the Whitinger Farm, we are busy making stepping stones for a walkway between our driveway and the house. It's an ambitious project and we've already made dozens of stones. By popular request, here is the tutorial on how we're making them.

Looks like it is a fun family project! Liked you "mesmerizing video"! Hilarious!
I made a few mosaic steps atop ready made HD purchased stepping stones but making them completely would be more satisfying plus you have so many decorating options.

It's super easy to do, Sue! Give it a shot. Thumbs up I especially like the power to make your own shapes. I made a mold for a heart shaped stone and that turned out VERY well.

I have so many ideas for this new garden, I fancy those steps with the leaf impressions & hypertufa is also something I also would like to try someday!

The leaf impression stones are indeed very nice. We really like them. They are, of course, not colorful, but sometimes you're looking for subtle designs.

Here's an idea I photographed on a garden tour, I thought they would look nice as individual stones too. They start out with a 'daisy' design with the light stone as the center.

I love too with your stones as well as the ones in the photo Sue posted that the pebbles, pieces of glass, & leaf/misc. impressions make the stepping stones non slip. One can achive that by sweeping a broom across them but then that's no fun & certainly not creative & not interesting or pretty at all.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
