Those of you who know me from the Plumeria forum are aware that they are the main focus of my plant-obsession. But recently I came to the realization that I loved Cacti and Succulents and have been buying them and been mostly been keeping them in pots. Now my front yard was not the ideal place for Plumeria and so I have gone all out and cleared it of all but two Plumeria trees, and am now slowly (and impatiently, I might add) building up that patch to receive the bulk of my collection (and some yet to be bought plants...) There are two great Pachypodiums already there, and this morning I made some great headway since DH was home and could help me move some larger things... I will be posting progress pictures as I go along.
Here is picture no. 1

Since that picture was taken I have come along quite a bit, but I will be very impatiently waiting for next Friday when they are coming to install gutters along the front windows, so my cacti will not be subject to cascading waterfalls in the summer! That is when I can start planting in earnest.

My major achievement of the day was to get the big Barrel Cactus in place, with a few smaller ones to keep it company. It's on a small elevation.

It's a Euphorbia geroldii, with a Rhipsalis hanging over the side.

Unless you mean the one on the far left in the low pot? It is a Yucca elephantipes. And the pot is only a rim... Whistling

Here is some more progress.
Where the edge of the walk/driveway is I placed a few rocks and planted a small Aloe in the group.

The Barrels have gotten some company of the lovely slightly variegated Agave attenuata, and another Agave I picked up at the plant sale yesterday. What was the name again...??? Thumbs down

The Parodia magnifica in the picture above has two small pups (which is why it is tilted), and also gave me a couple of seeds. Has anyone here ever grown these from seed?

OK, progress! I've created the 'dry riverbed' which serves as hardscape to plant around. And I have planted quite a few new plants as you can see. Comments are invited and appreciated. This is still very much a project in progress so I can still move things.
This is as seen from the front door.

It looks great. You've left the plants enough room to fill in, I think it will have a great flow to it.

It looks wonderful and you have great taste. Keep the pics coming.

I will caution you on having the Agave planted so close to your walkways though. They get HUGE and are not easy to have to sneak around to avoid getting stabbed. I would say you could always move them later but those roots are a b.... to get up once they're large.
