I agree, Sheila. That's what I would look at if I were hunting around for bf info.

This is interesting - I think it's the perspective difference. I was primarily interested in which plants I should be planting and only added that list because I thought those of us who were more familiar with the different BFs would want it.... as it turns out, I'd say just about everyone who looks at this forum likes the "by the butterfly" list best.

I agree with you on the perspective. I'm still learning what to plant for what BFs and It helps me, being inexperienced, to see what I need or what type of BF I want to attract. I'm certain in the end, once I learn them all better I'll want to attract a little of everything Big Grin

Hackberry Emperor, Question Mark, & Mourning Cloak also use hackberry trees for a host plant. To be such a ugly invasive tree, it does have some redeeming qualities. Cedar Waxwings flock to them for the berries also.

I found the caterpillar of one on a peach tree just before it pupated. It was hanging in the "J". I took it inside and kept it until it eclosed. Still see the adults sometimes but never a caterpillar, it must have fallen out of the hackberry that hung over that tree.
