The dwarfs didn't pan out (not sure what happened with them), but she's shipping the others out this week. I think there are still some 'Tugella Jade' available -- little white starry blooms, stacked up in a pineapple shape complete with a tuft of leaves on top!

I'd never even heard of these before, but I'm really looking forward to growing them. I got 'Ruby' & 'Jade', enough that I can do trios with 2 Ruby, 1 Jade together.

Critter, I've asked after Eucomis at one of the local garden centers and they're still leery of hardiness. I'm trying to stick w/hardy bulbs as I have enough tropicals to lift and the list is growing. Do you overwinter in ground? We're pretty much the same zone.

This will be my first time with them, Evan. The info I've seen indicates they should be hardy to my zone 6 (new zone map puts me in zone 7, but I've had plenty of zone 7 things not come back). I figure they'll need a good scoop of mulch on them, though, and I'm going to pot up at least one trio and bring it into the basement next winter just to hedge my bet.

I have one bed (maybe 12 x 4) that's just tropicals, which makes it easier at "lift in fall" time. It would be nice to have a few tropical-looking things in the corners of that bed that didn't have to come inside!

Hi, I just got these bulbs Dwarf Eucomis Tiny Piny Opal..may I ask how deep you have planted the bulbs?

I have planted my Eucomis bulbs last March 27 and not sure if it was okay or not..I decided to take a peek and see if all is well yesterday 20Apr..so far so good! I saw it was creating roots..then I read that it should be planted just below soil surface, so I corrected the depth a bit..here's hoping things will fare better

My Eucomis seems to be missing in action this year..hmm..got to dig and see if it is really gone, or just doing a very slow start.

Hi Calin, I dug up the bulbs, and it is still okay, not mushy, still firm. There is growth coming out on each of the bulbs, roots seems okay as well. So I have put it back to its container but have moved the bulbs a bit higher, maybe I have planted it too deep first time Now I am not sure if it will still try to proceed to grow.
