I am enjoying the rain also!!! tomorrow I hope it will be easier to plant some more new plants hopefully this week I will be able to do something about the area around my compost bins... it's a mess... and I still have branches that broke on last year hurricane...

When do you guys divide irises??? I am not sure but someone told me in July... is that right???

July or at least 6 weeks after bloom. If it is too terribly hot in the summer wait, but we in the north need time for them to settle in.

Had to buy some petunias for centerpieces for mother daughter breakfast that our church is running...originally wanted to do a living wreath but couldn't find the wreath frames locally, so I made these, container and picks I got at Michaels on sale

did some damage at Ace hardware & HD today.. went to Ace because they had advertised $10.00 hanging baskets.. figures they all stunk.. and I had to buy bigger more expensive ones

so excited.... got some nice red petunias at walmart so I can start getting red all over so the hummingbirds will find my garden.... yay!!!

I always buy the red bows from the dollar store at christmas.. and hang them out for the hummers... I had bright red doggie poop bags I put out too.. they were the kind that are rolled up and you can rip them .. I used 3 and hung it near my feeder

really???? ok, I just planted red petunias and a gorgeous red geranium... and I will add some red bows and other red things... making my garden hard to miss!!!!

yes.. one of the few times I have seen a mature male with a full red neck too.. he was being shy for a while.. the other morning he finally got used to me.. and stopped flying away when he saw me

I always ask this of people who like hollyhocks. Do you know how to make 'hollyhock dolls'? We used to do it as children & I'm afraid the tradition is dying out. Perhaps Moms do';t want the girls messing with their flowers.
