I'm wondering
- do you like it?
-when and how long does it bloom?
- does it bloom second year from seed?

I wintersowed wlassovianum last year and I have 6 healthy little clumps returning. I'm trying to decide where to plant them. If it's a winner, I'll give a some prime real estate. Otherwise, I won't give it priority. Smiling

Karen, I didn't know this Geranium, but I like it.
I googled the plant and some reports say it will bloom the first year (just a few blooms). The reports about the blooming period vary very much: from just a few weeks up to over 3 months. The foliage in autumn turns to red.
May I ask you for seeds if you are able to collect some? You can have a look at my website to see what you would like to get in return. ALL my seeds are available for trading.

Jonna, I'll try to get some seeds for you. I'm normally not very good about collecting seeds, but I'll do my best. Remind me if you would.

When I researched the plant, I found the same varying information that you found. I actually got the seeds in trade last year, and the plant was highly recommended by the trader. She loved it. I wintersowed it last winter so it hasn't bloomed yet, but it's breaking dormancy now and looks nice and healthy.

I am unfortunately late in seeing this question so I hope you did decide to plant your Geranium wlassovianum. This is one of the subtly beautiful "sleeper" perennials that you will probably grow to love. The foliage is always pristine and attractive and adds a wonderful textural element to any planting. The fall color is amazing. Blooms are simple and wildflowery but very pretty. Once fully established, it can start blooming in June and continue through August. It may take several years to reach that point, however. Aside from that, it is extremely easy to grow and undemanding.

I have never started it from seed (yet), but the clumps are very easy to divide and transplant. I love hardy geraniums in general, and this is one of the most useful and distinct species for general garden use. It is a shame it does not hybridize easily, since I am sure the offspring would be durable and amazing.

Thank you Corey. I wintersowed these seeds last year, and this year I have 6 nice little clumps of it. I was mostly curious if it would bloom in it's second year from seed, as most perennials do. I'm glad to hear your positive comments about it.
