those trees being gone would make me happy happy happy ! i only have one spot out in the back that is full sun . sadly my greenhouse has already spoken for every inch of my full sun . but by the time i am done in the next year or so i will end up with plenty that beautiful golden warmth . i am planing on doing 1 tree at a time until i am done . some could just be topped and trimmed up but there are 5 that must go completely .don't get me wrong , shade is wonderful on those 100 degree days but all of my favorites need full sun or at least part of a day of it . yall should see the side yards and the back . big trees everywhere . not to mention the ivy that has taken over . some of the ivy vines up the trees are as big around as the top of my leg near my thigh . do any of yall have a clue how to kill ivy and not kill the good plants and trees ?

MMMM...Love 'em...
Happy Easter....
the nitrate hands have big fingers... if you use the old kitchen rubber gloves they hold their shape better ... [ experience talking ]
I did put together two hands holding the water going into the small pond... and have these other hands... mounted on a piece of tile... that's hung across the corner in the hall... passion vines growing across the top of it...Thumb of 2013-03-31/GordonHawk/310080

no.. they were from a discarded mannequin... do look into the rubber gloves for the kitchen. like platex.. they have different sizes and have slender fingers... they are heavier and will hold up to the streaching till they set up... the beauty of casting your own.. is you can cast them around whatever you are looking for them to hold... for a more natural look when compleated.. I've a few mannequin right hands left over ... without any lefts..

i found this on Thrifty Mama's Homestead facebook page and i must share it . every year i plant scarlet sage . it is one of my favorite plants . but have never thought of this . when i saw it i had to giggle a little because it reminded me of a bugz bunny cartoon with him sitting in the pot eating the carrot's . Real cute Rabbit.. the caldron would look great as a water garden... with a fogger putting out steam.... it would bring the fire to life... making soup... as it is..... it's darling

oh great idea Gordon i didn't think of the fogger . maybe even add some yellow Celosia in with the scarlet sage to make it look even more like fire . i love it when creativity gets cut loose in a garden .

I LOVE IT!

You could also put one of those floating solar fountain things in the cauldron, to make it look boiling.

I, too, am a big fan of Bugs.
He and Daffy are responsible for my smart ass sense of humor, which gets me in trouble sometimes because I don't sound like I'm playing. I just sound like a smart ass.....

would it be hilarious or maybe a tad insane to find a bugs bunny or woody woodpecker statue to sit in the center of the bubbling pot ? i guess it depends on ones sense of humor . we sure did have the best cartoons back in the day .

Bugs eating carrots!

We had the best characters back in the day.
The WWII racist propaganda was unfortunate.

Oh Bugs and Porky Pig were great. Yep, we had the best cartoons back then. Kids today are missing out on a lot of funny cartoons. I loved Sylvester the Cat and of course Tweety Bird, Some day I hope I can find one of these characters to put in my yard.
