Thanks Betty, I'll tell her you said Hi. She was just taken down to get her second angioplasty, they need to confirm she doesn't have an aneurism. She had a minor cerebral hemorrhage over a week ago and a cat scan, earlier angioplasty and MRI confirmed it wasn't a stroke and they are 99% sure it wasn't an aneurism but until they were 100% sure, they wouldn't release her. No side effects except for a bad headache, that's almost all gone now. So she has been in Kaiser for over a week, frustrated and bored, she wants to be home with her kitty and back in the garden!

Gosh, Sue, I hope she'll be OK. We'll all be thinking of her, and you, too.

On a different note, our new puppy Sprite has become my little helper in the garden. Here's a link to a video of her digging a hole for a new rose: http://youtu.be/M4m-f9n82c4

If only my dogs would dig on command...

They are more likely to dig up a rose hunting gophers.

She's a cutie Mike, my daughters dogs do that when they smell a gopher, not always in an area I like though, like porkpal said.

I am home now, Mom's test went fine, negative for any problems, she finally comes home tomorrow. Thumbs up I'll go back down on Sunday to stay with her a couple days until she feels back to normal energy wise and can move around comfortably enough.

It is good news, Sue. I had a TIA in December and it is scary. Very happy there will be no lingering effects. Group hug

Glad you are well again Debra, getting older and having medical issues is scary, I live in dread for my family and myself all the time.

Wood hyaciths are blooming now in the southside rose garden. I have roses, lilies, and spring bulbs in there.

I went & pruned every single rose in the front yard. I have buds on quite a few of my mini roses (they're in a separate bed), but no buds on the "big" roses yet. But I swear, I really should find a hobby that's less .. bloodthirsty? Painful? I swear every single one of my roses was out for blood today. Even BlueGirl, who's almost thornless, was blood seeking. I should rename them all to piranhas.

What a gorgeous dog. so beautiful.
May I ask if you can ID a rose for me?
I brought this rose with me when I came to Georgia from Missouri. It is one a lady gave my Dad. I can't remember the lady so I just call it "Daddy's Rose" but I'm sure it has a name. It is blooming and smells so nice.

Here is a closer shot of the blooms...

Rose jelly being made from the blooms, I don't spray them. Even the jelly smells great!!!!
Thank you..

Toni, you can pick one stem and have enough stems for a small bouquet. It is so pretty...

To me, personally, looks like Europeana. But mine has no scent & you said that yours smells good. Thorny? Blackspot problems? Mildew? Hips? But the leaves on yours is a little lighter color than Europeana. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...
