Has anyone seen a Golden Mouse Ears hosta? I bought a plant of Mighty Mouse the other day that I didn't need because it had a gold division. I googled for more info and read a response from one person who had one but it died when he separated it. I will let mine grow for a while and then try to separate.

One of my Mighty Mouse hostas had a solid cream colored eye (not gold), but it died off before the summer was over. I never tried to divide it because I figured it wouldn't make it anyway!

There seems to be a wide variety of color patterns in Mighty Mouse...wider borders, narrow borders, wavy leaves, and some gold leaves, and gold divisions. I haven't seen a gold one growing separately from a parent plant. The gold ones don't seem to be very vigorous. I've seen this in gold sports of other Hosta.

How is your gold sport coming along?

I just stumbled on Giantland Sunny Mouse Ears -- a BME seedling that is being touted as the first gold-leafed member of the mouse ears family.

The golden division did not amount to anything....it declined as the blue divisions took over. Shrug!

Mine was still there in 2013 -- will have to see if it is there this next year....
