Are you familiar with the connectors mechanics use on air hoses? Same technology. They allow you to just push back a sleeve on the connector on one hose, and slide the mating connector on the other hose (or watering tool) into it. It snaps back and voila! No having to screw and unscrew hoses and nozzles. They are generally sold as either male/female sets or a combination of several.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
