I should have grabbed a color wheel off the net instead of just drawing them out. It's easier to see here on these:

Primary color wheel:

Secondary color wheel:

Complementary color wheel, complementary colors are directly across the wheel from each other, this one also includes shades in between primaries and secondaries, and that works as well. Same if you add white to them, then you have pastels:
