Obviously it lasts a long time! There have been times when it was in storage for a while. It is only about an inch deep so is suitable only for these succulents. There is a long crack on one side that drains water out. It is not an intentional crack, just something that showed up as the wood continued to cure. We also had a real nice carved salmon from the same source and I have passed that along to my son.
