I am not sure how useful it is to reveal how many acorns are given by each person. If someone has ten acorns and gives one away, it means a whole lot more than an acorn from someone having a thousand.
I would rather not have members make any good or bad assumptions about someone else, based on the quantity of acorns they give.
This all can't be an exact science, but if one of the purposes is to highlight the better posts, than a better option might be to give the running total of acorns that the particular post might have:
Leftwood gave acorns for a post made by fiwit under "New feature tonight: Acorns Tips!" (All tallied: 11 acorns)
