I just came across this thread and even though I don't do much with succulents, I LOVE that birdcage planter!
And speaking of thinking outside the box, I remember there was a conversation, I think it was on Cubits, about using handbags for hanging planters. And another discussion about cutting the legs off old jeans, sewing up the leg holes and using that for a planter. Be cool to use suspenders to hang something like that.
Of couse, that wouldn't last too long, but it would be fun!
