Thumb of 2013-07-27/jmorth/ba192c - Oakhursrt next to E. Pole-Evansii (the Giant Pineapple Lily, get 3 to 6' tall). Somewhere there's a pic that illustrated size difference. If found, I'll post it.

All of my Pineapple lilies are grown in pots a/o large containers. They receive full sun at least half a day. These containers are overwintered dry in their pots in the basement. Sometimes they get re-potted in the spring, sometimes not. Occasionally, and irregularily they get dosed w/ water soluble Miracle Aid fertilizer (20-20-20). They replicate fairly swiftly. Full sun for 2/3rds of the day, watered every day.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.
