Susan:
I love that you always post many of your daylilies in long shots of beautiful bouquets of the blooms that grow in your garden. These are the images that will carry us through the long cold Winter, back into next Spring. Your pictures are outstanding. And in that vein, I will post several bouquets that appeared in my garden in the past few days.
MAE GRAHAM - Older classic plant (Spaulding-Award of Merit 1983) that has never performed like it is performing this year. It fact, I barely noticed it in the past 4 summers. This year the flowers are huge, and it has bloomed for 5 weeks unhindered by pelting rain storms or the colder nights. A great EMO. Yesterday, this classic beauty was just beautiful.
ESP - J. Shooter - I love white daylily's and have quite a few in my garden. This could be a bridal bouquet, if only the blooms would last through the ceremony. Always an August bloomer.
EYED ALLIGATOR - Of all 30 plants that I added to my garden this year, I have been most impressed with the 3 Lambertson plants I added this Spring. I somehow in my buying selection every year overlooked this hybridizer. The colors, extraordinary eye patterns, and size of the blooms are quite extraordinary. Here is 'Eyed Alligator' as it bloomed in July and again yesterday (August 11)
