I took a field trip today and drove down to Sarasota to collect a palm and to stop by Plantio La Orquidea just to see what was new. It seems that Rafael and I both like Brassavolas and Schomburgkias. First, here is my new palm called a Windamere or Trachycarpus latisectus.
I got Susan a David Sander:
My Digbyana is dying a slow death due to the dredded black rot so I got a replacement on a stick. No black rot now. It is a very nice size.
Now here is some big news. Rafael and his buddies have crossed a David Sander with a digbyana. It has no name yet but he had a few plants and I got one. I can't wait to see the flower.
Over on the Schomburgkia side, I picked up a large Mcp brysiana, var. semi alba, in bloom.
