I love mums! Spoon-quill is my favorite type, and I've had several crossed seedlings turn out this way. Hurray!

I usually only get around to buying new plants just before bloom time, and I think those plants use most of their energy for that. So what I've done to get plants that will winter-over is to take cuttings when I bring them home, pinch off any buds, and stick them in the ground. The new starts are the ones that are most likely to return in the spring. Smiling
