That is a wonderful sedum you have. It is one of the tall, upright types.
And we have no photos of that one in our database. Sad
Would be wonderful if you could take some photos and add them to the database. Hurray!

I don't cut mine back until spring, when I see the first signs of the new foliage popping up from the ground. Then I cut the dead stems to just above the new foliage, so as not to damage the new growth.
This is what it will look like when coming out of dormancy. Since your are in a very cold area, extra mulch at the base of the plant is helpful in keeping it from heaving during freeze/thaw cycles.
