We put all our tender bulbs grown in pots in the garage late Sept / early Oct w/o water, letting the foliage die back near naturally before stripping the plants and moving them to the basement...imagine my surprise when I walked in there and discovered a few rain lilies blooming. Funny thing about it, we've basically been ultra dry (Aug, Sept, Oct) until yesterday when we got a couple inches, and what do you know? a rain lily came w/ the rain.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.
