This one always makes me think of family....so it wins the "iris I'm most thankful for" spot in my garden ! A neighbor gave it to my Mom (before I can even remember !, and I'm 65 !) Mom grew, and shared it for years from her garden here in Lyndon, then, took it with her to Arkansas in 1965. Fro Arkansas, it traveled back to Lyndon ,when Rita and I married, and bought our home, and also to my sisters first home( in Geneseo, Il.). It also made it's way to lake Forest, Il., to my other sister's first home. Both sisters moved, and the iris went with them, and then to their children's gardens, when they had purchased homes. When my folks "came home" to Lyndon (after 29 years in Arkansas), the iris came, too ! Aunts, and Uncles, and cousins, and children, nieces and nephews, friends and family have passed this back and forth , for what seems like a lifetime( and ,I guess it HAS been a lifetime ! If anyone ever knew it's name...it' long forgotten now, and just a NOID. I THINK I've found it's ID( and have a "test plant" started to confirm it, Hopefully ,anyway!). It has the most wonderful aroma, and perfumes the whole garden when it blooms! I have to dig a LARGE clump of it next season, and divide it, so...if any of my "iris friends" here would like some....Just let me know!......Arlyn
