On the other side I needed to be more flexible for the seasonal movement of large tropicals in and out. So I built a tall narrower bench from reused PT fence parts. This allows me to pull the bench away from the wall and add a milk crate and plank behind it for tall plants in large pots. I can also set shorter large pots under it.
I have a removable shelf for that side also. I'm still playing with this area so it is adaptive to differing needs.I will probably finish this bench and give it a coat of paint to make it nicer. At the season peak it gets a little tight so we have a flats bench and cart up by the garage for overflow and plants being hardened off, allowing us to move them in for the night if needed. This is also our nursery area for incoming and outgoing plants. There is a hose right there and we have varying levels of shade.
