Had to go to Columbus this afternoon. By then it had warmed up to 2. Downright balmy out!
The sun was shining when I left, which always makes it feel warmer.
Just a few miles west of home, where the terrain goes from really hilly to flat, I started seeing one of the strangest weather phenomena I have ever seen. If not for seeing it reported on my local news, I would not have known what they were. Very, very interesting! Saw them all the way to my destination...in the freeway median, in town in yards, out in the country in farm fields. But, as soon as I was on my way back home, and got out where it was more hilly, I stopped seeing them.
Snow Rollers.
Wish I had my own camera, but never dreamed I would see such a thing!
Here is a link to a story where I found a lot of good photos. Most of the ones I saw must have been at least 1-1/2 feet long and 1 foot across, with a hole in the middle. Lots and lots of them, with little trails where they had been blowing like tumbleweeds....
