I've been waiting for someone from a colder zone to answer your question, Kay, but maybe they're all hibernating. I'm afraid I'm of no help to you because I always wait until late January or early February to prune the clems, but my zone's vastly different from yours. Maybe when this response bumps the thread up, someone in a colder zone will advise you.
