There is still one street (thankfully not MY street) that has no water, but there are only 2 families affected. The city is working on their section of water main right now, and they are saying tomorrow it will be repaired. And yes, while there is still a little snow where it was "piled", it's mostly just soft, muddy ground! The city boys tell me there is "thawed soil" down to about 18", then frost down to a little over 4' deep! The big problem now (again, not for me, or most in town) is the ice jams on the river, and the flooding that they cause! It's sprinkling rain now, and has been for several hours, so, no "walk-a-bout" this morning Shrug! , and I REALLY wanted to get out and give things a close look ! My son and I have given up on any tree-tapping this spring, as the trees are standing in about 3' of Rock River water, and surrounded by huge piles of ice ! No syrup for my pancakes ! Crying ....Arlyn
